Maintenance Level II
Summary
Duties include but are not limited to repair and maintaining all physical aspects of machines including PM's floor calls, checking parallels, adjusting machines, banders, conveyors, stackers, building maintenance (all aspects), hydraulics, pneumatics, cleaning up shop, help maintain inventory, etc
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The maintenance level II technician will perform all duties in a safe manner and will immediately report any safety concerns to their supervisor; and will attend all safety training supplied by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities shall include the following:
(additional duties may be assigned as necessary);
1. Respond to floor calls - write work orders for further work required.
2. Perform PM's on a timely basis.
3. Repair Machines - complete work orders.
4. Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts.
5. Diagnosing and repairing electrical controls, industrial motor control centers.
6. Interprets blueprints; works from sketches or verbal instructions.
7. Read and understand Hydraulic and Pneumatic Schematics.
8. Communicate between shifts and with operators.
9. Participate in accident investigations.
10. Be able to start up all machines - production and support machines.
11. Clean up after jobs are complete.
Qualifications
In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
Minimum Education and / or Experience
High School education and previous maintenance experience, the ability to read blueprints and parts breakdowns, welding and torching, plus being able to use a large variety of hand tools.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, Ability to calculate percentages, Ability to read a tape measure within 1/16th of an inch.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the maintenance II technician is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. The individual must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. In addition the maintenance II technician is required to be available at all times.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job the individual is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The maintenance II technician will be required to follow all safety rules (i.e. Lockout / Tagout / Try) when working on machinery. In addition, steam, hydraulics, and electrical components are found in working areas. The individual will need to be constantly aware of their surroundings - it is typical for fork lifts and clamp trucks to be utilized in close proximity to the machinery.
Typical Equipment Used
Ability to use the following; Wrenches, prybar, screwdriver, grinder, portaband, welder, torch, lathe, milling machine, band saw, drill press, bearing press, gear pullers, forklift, jacks, dial caliper, micrometer, and all other hand tools.
Compensation
Is competitive with the marketplace and is based on education and experience in the industry.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
