Hanna Boys Center is looking for dynamic and energetic individuals who want to make a difference. This is an on call position, days and hours will vary, may be a good fit for those finishing up college.
General
Summary:
The On Call Child Care Professional (CCP) provides guidance and supervises the daily living experience for the residents of Hanna Boys Center. The On Call CCP provides supports the Child Care Department and assists in the guiding of helping each boy develop socially appropriate behaviors.
Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
o In all activities acts as an appropriate role model.
o Provides assistance to the Child Care department.
o Supervise the residents.
o Develop a sound professional rapport with both staff and residents
o Maintain a clean and orderly cottage.
o Assist residents with school work.
o Teach hygiene skills and other socially appropriate skills to residents.
o Observe safety rules and emergency procedures.
o Chart and administer medications as directed.
o Implement treatment plans.
o Maintain daily written log.
o Communicate with team members and other Center personnel as needed to ensure all information is relayed as appropriate.
o De-escalate crisis situations as they arise.
o Assist in the facilitation group meetings.
o Establish clear boundaries for the residents.
o Implement crisis intervention skills as needed.
o Administer discipline and process with the residents in follow-up discussions.
o Maintain a therapeutic environment for the residents.
o Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
o Bachelor's degree or experience working with children preferred
o Must be at least 21 years of age
o Bilingual abilities a plus!
o Clearance of TB test, physical including drug test, fingerprinting, and any other State/Federal requirements
o Ability to be certified in CPR, First Aid, CPI and Water Safety
o Flexible in responding to Center needs
o Driver's License, ability to be insured under our policy
o Able to safely lift 50 pounds and carry 10 pounds
