Apartment Leasing Consultant

The primary role of the leasing consultant is to promote leasing, retention, and occupancy for the community while promoting resident satisfaction. Our leasing staff is very sales and customer service driven that create a lasting influence on visitors, prospects, and residents. As a leasing consultant, you manage your own success by attaining leasing goals, such as occupancy and rent growth, and by building rapport with prospects and residents.
Responsibilities includes:
Greeting, qualifying, showing, and closing prospective residents
Inviting prospects for community tour
Recording traffic and leasing activity
Verifying applications and notifying applicant of approval or denial
Maintaining lease expiration programs
Preparing move-in packages and lease paperwork
Walking through units to ensure they are ready
Moving in residents by reviewing lease and addendums
Promoting other income items
Ensuring that the grounds, showing routes, models, leasing carts, and office are to use and view
Assisting with outreach programs
Maintain monthly market survey and knowledge of competition
Maintaining a hospitality center for prospective residents
Preparing service requests and assigning staff to duties
Maintaining renewal program
Overseeing move-out of residents
Maintaining all office inventory
Ensuring curb appeal of community
Keeping up-to-date resident database
Participating in risk management program
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
General knowledge of Property Management
Knowledge of on-site management operations or customer service is preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1 Year of apartment leasing or customer service experience preferred
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Strong oral and written communication skills
Able to adhere to set and variable work schedule, including weekends and emergencies as required
Able to adhere to company policies, procedures and practices
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Able to professionally interact with customers, residents and guests, as needed
Own a valid driver's license with good driving record and current automobile insurance
Able to maintain professional image Self-confidence and outgoing
Assertiveness and Strong customer service orientation
Basic Internet, Microsoft Word and Excel experience
Ability to perform work responsibilities at locations other than home property helpful
Able to travel within major metropolitan area; may be required to attend company functions in cities other than home cities requiring overnight staysEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
