SKILL REQUIREMENTS
o One year of professional landscape maintenance experience.
o Valid Virginia Driver's License with clean driving record
- Be at least 18 years old
o Must be able to effectively communicate in English
o Has a general knowledge of horticultural and maintenance practices
o Ability to train others and exercise leadership skills
o Is dependable; consistently at work and on time, responds to management direction and commits to the required hours for job completion that will vary based on weather/season.
o Leads by example, holding self and team accountable

o Has the ability to perform basic mathematical functions
o Is able to complete daily paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
o General knowledge of irrigation systems
- Able to reach overhead
- Able to work in various positions including, but not limited to, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting for extended periods of time
- Able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned task
- Be able to lift 85 pounds frequently throughout the day
- Be able to walk on uneven terrain for extended periods of time
- Physical Exposure Includes (but is not limited to)
Working outside in various weather conditions that may be hot, cold, wet or turbulent
o Unusually loud noise level
o Working with and near moving mechanical parts;
o Exposure to hazardous material such as pesticides, gasoline, oil and grease
PRIMARY/ ROUTINE RESPONSIBILITIES
o Reads and follows job specifications including materials and timelines.
o Organizes, supervises, leads and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframe.
o Ensures contractual obligations are fulfilled in a manner that is in line with proper horticultural practices
o Complies with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements, including crew member discipline and documentation
o Complies with equipment preventative maintenance program.
o Ensures that crews have tools and materials needed to perform the job.
o Follows-up on tasks; completes a thorough walk through prior to leaving jobsite
o Trains crew members on equipment, safety, efficiency and quality.
o Ensures that all crew members follow company policies and procedures
o Takes appropriate disciplinary action with crew members when necessary
Provides positive and constructive feedback regarding the work and efforts of crew members
o Effectively evaluates the performance of the crew, participates in and/or performs reviews of crew members and recommends wage increases
o Maintains positive, responsive and flexible attitude to all clients and team members
o Inspects each job site weekly and maintains punch lists given by manager while on site
o Identifies way to improve work processes, efficiency and quality
o Communicates with onsite clients as outlined in communication plan
o Responds properly to the client's requests; follows up to make sure their needs have been met
o Keeps manager aware of all client concerns and communication on the job site
o Actively supports the company safety program
o Reports all losses and/or accidents to management
o Properly fills daily sheet/timecard for crew members and self after leaving each site
o Performs pre-trip inspection daily and properly maintains assigned vehicle
o Maintains safe working conditions on job site at all times
o Provides alternative solutions to problems and is able to troubleshoot while on the job site
o Thinks ahead, has pro-active plan and assists in the re-scheduling due to weather delays
