Engineer Technologist
Steele and Associates are seeking local candidates for an Engineering Technologist opportunity. This is a contract position slated to start April 1, 2015 with an estimated duration of 1 year.

This entry level Engineering Technologist position has a customer focus. This position will be the gatekeeper to distribution engineering pertaining to customer requests. This position is responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction and communication. This position will be an entry level Engineering Technologist designer responsible for receiving all customer requests for the assigned DEM area. This position will be responsible for small customer requests such as pools, FMDR conditions and small light requests.

Major Job Duties
o Learn and practice a Safety First attitude incorporating company safety rules and policies in all aspects of daily work.
o Receive customer requests via WMIS, email and/or phone.
o Contact customer to discuss submitted request within 2 business days.
o Gather all pertinent data from customer before assigning request to designer/engineer.
o Track and follow up with customers that have not submitted all pertinent data to support request.
o Assign customer request to designer/engineer utilizing WMIS.
o Prepare a complete field package for the designer/engineer to utilize on the field visit to ensure one field visit achieves the desired result in preparing a work request. o Review pool requests utilizing GIS. If conflict exists or potential conflict exists pool request will be assigned to a designer/engineer for field review.
o Manage multiple projects and customers in order to assure timely, successful completion of projects resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction and company/departmental/individual goal achievement.
o Perform field investigation and designs for certain customer facing work requests.
o Learn and incorporate company safety rules and policies, company design standards and governing authority regulations into daily work and designs. Designs will meet all requirements of applicable company safety standards, company distribution construction standards, and governing authority regulations.
o Learn and use company design platforms (WMIS and G-Net Viewer) to prepare and input work order packages, specify labor and materials required to build projects, create construction prints, and develop customer invoicing. Develop cost estimates for options to provide power to customers.
o Develop and incorporate private property, easement and road right of way knowledge into daily work and designs. Work with land agent staff to secure easements from customers.
o Consult closely with crew members and crew management to fully understand operational nature of distribution power systems, construction requirements and learn material used in the industry.
o Coordinate projects for construction across multiple departments to accomplish timely construction and meet customer needs within a negotiated timeframe.
o Be available for and perform major and minor storm restoration duties including extended working hours, field work and/or specific storm assignments.
o Work independently and under general supervision performing tasks indicative of the job.
o Must be customer focused and possess a comfort working with customers on a daily basis.

Required Basic Qualifications
WMIS, knowledge of gathering daily assignments and tasks completions Communicating with influence to customers via phone and email
Strong organizational skills to track customer requests, customer follow up and info gathering GIS viewing Outlook scheduling
Either a graduate from a college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or
2 to 4 years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or
5 to 10 years equivalent experience with no degree.
Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Valid driver's license Desired Qualifications
Experience in distribution operations and engineering at the electric utility
Experience in effectively operating WMIS for work request creation, reassignment and task completion
Experience in understanding different customer request types and pertinent questions to ask customers related to customer requests
Experience in effectively viewing and printing GIS maps
Experience in speaking with customers via phone, email or text
Experience working with general public including written or verbal communication through job, internship, or volunteer history
Experience in tracking multiple projects at the same time
Highly organized and motivated to make an impact on customer service Understanding of basic principles of project management.

Engineer Technologist
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
