Materials Manager

We have a continuous improvement, customer centric focused environment. This position could have the opportunity to grow into a broader role in Supply Chain or Operations.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
o Management of Jr. & Sr. Buyer/Planners and a clerical position (4 employees).
o Ensuring that MRP is processed and work orders released to the shop floor in a timely fashion.
o Proactively work with all internal customers and suppliers to ensure timely flow of materials to meet production schedules.
o Visit suppliers as necessary to negotiate contracts or evaluate potential new vendors.
o Defining goals for cost, quality and reliability metrics for vendors and implement changes as needed.
o Participation in continuous improvement and guide change efforts toward a lean, flexible and responsive department.
o Analyze and measure the current production status and identify problem areas that inhibit full schedule realization.
o Objectives are to continually improve on time delivery from suppliers, to manufacturing.
o Adjusting stock levels to increase inventory to help with our relocation to a new facility.
o Metrics for success will include overall spend reduction as a percent of sales, inventory turns increases, and favorable terms and conditions.
o Strong IT utilizing Visual MRP is a plus.
o Cycle counting.
o Assist Operations Manager in capital equipment purchases.

Requirements include a minimum of 5-7 years experience in Production Control / Purchasing. A four year degree and APICS Certification is required. Engineering and Technical knowledge is highly desired. Background in equipment assembly, CNC machining and master scheduling knowledge a plus. Understanding of constraint based management and demand driven scheduling is a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
