The Global Commodity Manager has worldwide responsibility for the development and deployment of the commodity strategy for the commodities or spending sectors for which the manager is responsible.
The Global Commodity Manager will collaborate with the Division Sourcing Manager in setting realistic and challenging operational goals and contributes to their accomplishment.
Advises and coordinate with the Sourcing Staffon all functions dealing with sourcing, acquisition of raw materials and services, buying and administration domestically.
Provides for the evaluation of vendor quotations utilizing appropriate negotiation and purchasing analysis techniques and implementation of proper contracts with emphasis on quality, price, delivery and service necessary to meet requirements.
The Global Commodity Manager obtains contract information from suppliers in B-Line defined format, receive summary report of changes, discuss and negotiate with supplier, if appropriate.
Extends coverage of spend under B-Line contracts in order to support business requirements.
Maintains records of all contracts, orders and commitments made for goods and services.
Sets up and conduct competitive bid processes utilizing eRFx/reverse Auction and develop supplier recommendations based on analysis of data. Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic and Tactical activities related to production procurement of Raw Material, Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, eAuctions, eProcurement.
Strategic Commodity management to include ferrous and non-ferrous metals procurement. Analyze traditional and non-traditional supplier capabilities and supply base trends to select the optimum supply and value chain strategies that will leverage existing business.
Anticipate needs in the development of business and source plans, product and service requirements. Develop procurement source plan, which meets the needs of B-Line while developing and implementing purchasing best practices. Ensure that all operational issues and requirements, along with short and long term product and brand strategies, are incorporated into purchasing strategies. Work with Product Managers to develop new products and sources of supply, including raw materials or finished product.
Participate on New Product Development Teams to evaluate make-buy decisions and identifying the best source, in-house or out-source; including total cost evaluation of internal manufacturing versus supplier costs.
Maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, ensure successful implementation and support of established strategies with them.
Actively solicit and obtain business support on sourcing teams to ensure strategies are linked to, and supported by the business. Pursue and collate forecast requirements and stock movements of strategic materials.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain Management from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5 years experience in purchasing
Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience working with outsourcing and contracts
SAP experience Advanced Degree in Procurement Management or MBAEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
