We are currently seeking a Combustion Engineer to join our team at our facility in Zanesville, OH.
Position is accountable for efficient and improved combustion glass conditioning systems and increased furnace life through proper control of fuel consumption, heating and melting temperatures. Relieves other department supervisors as required.
Principal Accountabilities:

Checks regularly all furnace operating conditions, including location of air within tank, location of air within tack dampers, type of furnace flame, wind in refiner areas, temperature gradients, regenerators pressures, amount of dry batch in checkers, checker erosion, amount of waste gas, slag formation, etc. Analyze data and takes corrective action or makes recommendations to supervisor as to further action required.
Directs maintenance of various electric motors, gear reduction equipment, environmental control systems, water jackets, batch screw, feeders, etc. Take appropriate correction action.
Checks regularly the furnace melting quality. Takes bottle samples and, as required, sends to Engineering for analysis. Receives instructions from Glass Engineering relative to adjustments in batch, temperatures, etc. Also takes a daily bottle sample from each furnace, checks light transmission quality against customer standards and advises supervisor to adjust coloring.
Prepares regular and special reports, charts, and tables relative to furnace operations. Includes daily furnace load report, which is used to establish load limits designed to properly balance maximum pull and maximum furnace life. Sets limits in conjunction with supervisor.
Responsible for assisting in department preventative maintenance and safety programs. Makes regular inspections; receives notice of problems from other department personnel; issues necessary work orders; follows up to insure completion.
Consults with supervisor, advises and makes recommendations to supervisor concerning methods, procedures, personnel and equipment.
Directs activities of the furnace tenders and the hot repair crew.
Communicates and directs the application of prescribed safety and environmental regulations.

Scope and Impact:
The positions emphasis is to provide a committed and high level of technical expertise and service, working in partnership with the Batch and Furnace Manager and the Production and Quality Managers, to produce glass containers at continuously improving levels of quality and efficiency.
Position Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Ceramic, Chemical, Materials Science or related Engineering field preferred
1-5 years of experience in the Batch & Furnace area of a glass manufacturing facility or related field
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Batch & Furnace Manager.
Travel Requirements:
There may be some travel associated with this position for training and/or project work.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
