Summary:
Our client in Utica, NY is seeking an experienced HR Benefits professional who will manage the Benefits Team and deliver benefits services to a large and diverse employee population. This is a fantastic opportunity for growth, as the Benefits Specialist will be evaluating current offerings and making strategic benefit recommendations.
The successful candidate will interface with client groups in relation to benefits through departmental presentations, telephone, email, etc. and must demonstrate strong communication skills and project management skills.
The Benefits Specialist will participate in strategic planning related to service delivery, development of metrics, new program implementation, training, and provide support for annual open enrollment.
Responsibilities
Effectively oversee staff and functions related to the administration of all employee benefits.
Delegates assignments appropriately and creates a challenging and team-oriented environment.
Recommends and implements agreed improvements to any or all benefits programs, policies, processes, and practices.
Establishes regular contact and maintains a working relationship with all carriers/vendors to work out any issues or process.
Effectively administers accurate eligibility tracking, notification, and enrollment of all employee benefit and insurance plans
Conducts routine verification of ongoing eligibility of participants, appropriately communicating those changes and updates to the employee population.
Initiates, creates, and/or secures benefit communication pieces, either regulatory or otherwise, to ensure materials are communicated and distributed appropriately.
Ensures that all employee benefits files are kept up to date with appropriate communication.
Establishes and maintains benefits metrics and vendor metrics.
Responsible for communicating updates and enhancements to Director of the HR Service Center and maintaining a no surprises environment.
Perform other related duties as required by management.
Requirements:
At least 2 years previous supervisory experience.
Strong computer background (Microsoft Suite) with proven ability to write and create reports and recommendations.
Exceptional organizational, communication, management, and analytical skills.
Bachelor's degree; advanced degree or professional certifications preferred.
Proven ability with vendor relationships.
Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, ERISA, and the regulatory structure that governs workplace programs and accommodations.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
