Responsibilities:
This position will report directly to the President and will lead all accounting and finance functions as well as act as the business partner to the President and his sales and operations leaders in a variety of areas. The CFO will be responsible for improving accounting policies procedures, internal controls, ensure accurate and timely preparation of GAAP financial statements. They will also lead HR, IT and Risk management, Procurement functions, manage the external audit and banking relationships, and handle budgeting and projections. The CFO will first observe and learn the company structure, processes and operations and then present the President with ideas for increasing profitability, improving processes and procedures, and creating better financial and management reporting. ?Manage over/under billing. Develop relationships with clients, vendors and banker. The end result will be to reduce the president's day-to-day, hands on involvement and to create more structure in the accounting and finance function than currently exists.
The CFO will also educate operations team on cost control and job profitability and will respond to requests by senior management, for analysis, with solutions.
This position will require a practical, confident leader who can
effectively sell the President and his team on their ideas by illustrating how they will benefit the organization.
Competencies and
Qualifications:
BS Accounting degree and CPA Preferred
Minimum 10-15 years of accounting experience
Minimum 5-7 years in the construction business
Hands-on CFO with the ability to roll up sleeves
Past successful track record of bringing ideas that enhance growth and the bottom line to the business
Has been successful in a small, quick, growth oriented construction company
Very strong communication skills and can partner will multiply leaders to deliver superior results
Likes to teach versus tell
People follow versus obey
Cash flow management ability
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
