PROJECT Overview:
Provide engineering services to assist the Office of the Secretary of Defense respond to statutory and regulatory direction to develop and implement Systems Engineering-related policy and guidance.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND
Responsibilities:
Provide customer support as a subject matter expert in defense systems engineering. Specific tasks include the following:
Research, analyze, evaluate and recommend systems engineering policy and guidance focusing on eliminating redundancy through integration and consolidation
Establish and maintain security and data integrity
Participate in organizational initiatives with various teams coordinating and providing engineering and systems engineering advice and assistance
Review engineering and systems engineering documents for effective process and practice
Communicate regularly with customers and company leadership informally, in writing, one-on-one, and in meetings
Implement improvements to processes, work methods and procedures
Continue to build on technical and leadership skills
REQUIRED SKILLS AND
Qualifications:
Education:
At a minimum, must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Technical Management, Computer Science or a related discipline, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Expert in Systems Engineering and basic knowledge of the defense acquisition system process.
Skilled engineering practitioner with knowledge in systems engineering processes, procedures and the associated professional tools and applications.
Familiar with all areas of systems engineering to include developing program requirements, systems engineering process and tools, planning technical staff and organization, planning technical maturation and administrating baseline management, generating systems engineering plan (SEP) or systems engineering management plan (SEMP), planning and conducting technical reviews and coordinating overall program integration with risk management, test and evaluation, life cycle sustainment and contracting activities.
Able to demonstrate past experience in applying engineering expertise to DoD or defense industry programs.
Minimum of 5 years of systems engineering experience including project engineering responsibilities, customer/end-user interaction and designing and deploying enhancements and modifications within a program.
Defense headquarters or staff officer experience, with Pentagon experience building formal staff packages.
Solid technical knowledge and organizational skill in researching, planning, and managing various SE projects and initiatives.
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey technical information to technical and non-technical audiences; strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills. Experience working in a team environment.
Able to use MS Office products at an advanced level of proficiency.

Certification:
Systems Engineer certification commensurate with defense and industry established standards (for example, DAWIA SPRDE Level II or INCOSE CSEP).
Experiences/Skills:
Familiar with systems engineering tools and applications.
Effective team member with engineering professionals with experience in strategic planning, quality/process improvement and basic principles of business administration.
Ability to visualize a conceptual image of a project, then develop a plan for its implementation, and execute the plan.
Ability to manage a variety of complex tasks/projects simultaneously.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
