I. General Position
Summary:
The Director of Contracting and Operations, under the direction of the Executive Director. is responsible for contract negotiations, contract management/oversight and management of day to day operations of the PHO. Additionally he/she is responsible for PHO Provider relations and leverages the PHO analytic staff resources to help identify areas of opportunity for performance improvement.
The Director oversees key initiatives within the PHO and ensures consistent and timely communication between the PHO, Medical Groups, and the Hospital. .
He/She is part of the Executive Leadership team and will be an integral part of strategic and financial planning for the PHO.
II. Principal Duties and Essential Functions
? Contract Management
? Provider Relations
? NEPHO Operations and Executive Team Participation
Other:
Oversight of Coding Improvement efforts including contracting with consultant, prioritizing coding education and auditing efforts
Liaison to TMP for coding initiative/Oversight of Ingenix/Optum Chart Review, Coding audits and trainings.
III. Job Knowledge and Skills
? Effective organizational, business planning, negotiating, and conceptual thinking skills.
? Excellent oral and written communication skills.
? Excellent presentation skills to all levels of the organization.
? Interpersonal and problem ? solving skills.
? Demonstrated ability to coach managers and staff as well as a demonstrated success in working with medical staff is necessary.
? Ability to work with and build relationships with key physicians, office managers and staff to drive consensus.
? Ability to analyze data and understand utilization trends.
? Self-starting individual with the ability to manage multiple projects.
? Qualifications IV. Education/
Experience:
? MBA or MHA strongly recommended.
? Minimum of 10 years healthcare experience in a managed care, hospital or physician group setting.
? Strong financial and business planning skills a prerequisite
? Strong physician, staff, health plan relationship skills; strong management and organization skills. Scheduled Hours Full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift
