To perform accurate and timely collections to ensure account resolution at time of service for all inpatient and ED patients prior to discharge.
Assists patients with account issues to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION-
High School Diploma/ GED required.
Some college preferred.
Experience:
At least two years of experience in a hospital business office or medical billing office.
Two years of collection experience preferred.
Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care insurance plans and knowledge of reimbursement methodology.
Ability to assist patients in all financial aspects with the hospital billing and collection policies.
Excellent customer service skills required
Knowledge of Fair Debt Collection laws and Prompt Payment laws.
Hospital Registration experience a plus.
Job: Accounting / Financial ServicesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
