The Forsyth Police Department is seeking a full-time police officer to serve as the departmental Domestic Violence Officer. This position includes standard patrol duties, varying shifts as needed, traffic enforcement, criminal investigations as well as assigned duties related to reducing domestic violence in the City of Forsyth and public education responsibilities. This is a COPS grant position that requires applicants to be post 9/11 military veterans. A full job description is available upon request.
Requirements include:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Possess Missouri POST certification
- Possess a valid drivers license with no excessive traffic convictions
- Have no felony or serious misdemeanor criminal convictions
- Be of high moral and ethical character
- Excellent verbal communication and report writing skills
- Have served at least 180 days of military service since September 11, 2001 in any U.S. armed forces branch (and received an honorable discharge)
- Pass a thorough background and work history investigation
- Be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test and random drug screenings throughout the year

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
