Job Description Exelis is the Prime Contractor on the Space Communications Network Services Contract (SCNS) supporting NASA. We are actively recruiting for an Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO) to join our team in Greenbelt.
This is a technical support position responsible for the security posture of several closed area networks and standalone systems. The selected individual will be responsible for computer system and server support for Windows Systems. Information System Security skills and
Experience:
o Create & enforce Exelis-IS policies for Operating Systems
o Implement & monitor customer IA policies (NASA Baseline Standards)
o Technical Documentation- Configuration Management, security processes, System Security plans
o Asset Sanitization/Disposal
o Provide Technical Guidance to programs
o Monitor system posture & risk level
o Support certification & Accreditation requirements for program life cycle - from system proposal to system disestablishment
o Data Transfers - Approve and execute
o Data Spills- response, communication, equipment handling, cleanup management
details, internal communication, customer coordination
o Media Management - approvals, tracking, storage, disposal
o Weekly computer Audits
o Annual System Review - Risk assessment
o Antivirus Updates (DAT Files)
o Critical System Patching (customer IAVA responses)
o System Security Plans- draft, review, update/maintain records
o Manage/Coordinate Network Updates & Maintenance
o Software Requests - approvals, documentation, coordination with user & System Admin
o Disaster Recovery - documentation/update
o Information Security requirement planning
o Customer meetings- Program Reviews
o Communication with or Designated Accrediting/Approving Authority (DAA)
o ISSO Related Training as required by customer
o User hands-on training for IS
Required
Experience: 2
Years directly related experience w/ Bachelor's Degree. May be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required. Polygraph may be required.
A minimum of 2
years experience supporting Windows XP, Windows 7, Server 2003, Server 2008R2 is required.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis is required
Ability to travel up to 25%
An active secret clearance is required.
US Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills: Security
and/or CISSP Certification are preferred
Familiar with NASA IDMAX and System A & A process is preferred
Clearance Level Required at Start Date Secret
Percent of Travel Required 25%
