Michigan State University seeks a dynamic individual to serve as Active Director Administrator. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a vibrant public research university and perform systems administration functions across a $2 billion enterprise; the administrator will help manage the central Active Directory environment for MSU users and systems; will report to the Manager of the MSU Messaging Team and will specialize in management, securing and maintaining of an enterprise implementation of Active Directory for the University; will assist in implementation and management of Active Directory; assist in migrating legacy domains to the central environment; troubleshoots issues and interacts with customers in order to discuss projects, technology solutions, answer questions regarding systems and technologies, and to resolve problems.
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in computer science, programming, information systems or related field experience with coursework; two years of related and progressively more expansive work experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft PowerShell, Kerberos and DNS; experience with Linux-based operating systems including integration, system administration and CLI; experience with Active Directory trusts and the affect on multi-forest environments; experience with Active Directory authentication protocols; Advanced Group Policy Object design, management and troubleshooting; experience delegating authority within Activity Directory environments; experience in server migrations as it relates to Active Directory; experience in design, management and troubleshooting Public Key Infrastructure (PKI); experience with managing and supporting Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
Microsoft MCSA, MCITP, or MSCE certification; experience with key technologies and architectures; SQL datasets, Single Sign-On, Secure Socket Layer, LDAP, Enterprise Data Warehousing; experience developing modification scripts; experience with server installation and migration, policy verification, tuning, troubleshooting, policy creation, system application upgrades and patching, application troubleshooting, agent white listing and troubleshooting, handling of support tickets, and documentation of system settings used during deployment; work experience with various IT teams to perform system, integration and performance testing; management of test environment; verbal and written communication skills, including active listening skills; demonstration of security minded analytical skills; ability to illustrate abstract models using concrete examples; ability to facilitate discussion of diverse points of view while maintaining group focus on the subject at hand; ability to work within a team environment; ability to manage confidential information with a high degree of integrity; ability to analyze and process large data sets, problem solving and technical skills, and responsive and biased towards speed and execution; ability to work under pressure across multiple roles and hierarchies in a highly collaborative, independent and innovative work environment.
