Summary: Directs a large team of Managers and Adjusters in the investigation and payment of Workers compensation claims.

Responsibilities:
1. Directs the settlement of all workers' compensation within the area.
2. Ensures claims best practices are followed in all assigned cases in accordance with company guidelines, state and federal regulations.
3. Provides leadership in understanding, and interpreting industry data and trends for a broad range of audience.
4. Directs the development of new products, processes, procedures, and training in response to customer needs and industry trends.
5. Interacts with other related departments like underwriting, products, and pricing to share information and to maintain a consistent approach to resolve problems.
6. Partner with industry leaders to help promote industry and legislative changes that benefit our stakeholders
7. Develops strategic responses to court cases against company and its policyholders.
8. Delivers a positive customer service experience to all internal, external, current and prospective customers.
9. Resolves customer complaints according to Best Practices. Monitors customer satisfaction in an effort to drive action plans for improvement.
10. Develops and monitors a departmental operating budget.
11. Enforces the adherence to compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
12. Identifies, develops and retains high potential/high performing associates who have the potential for or are ready to fill critical roles in the organization.
13. Directs associate management including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organizational planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions.
14. Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Undergraduate degree or post-graduate studies preferred.
Licenses/Designations: State licensing where required. Successful completion of required/applicable claims certification training/classes.
Experience: Extensive workers' compensation claims leadership experience. Must have experience managing managers/supervisors/leaders.
Knowledge: Requires advanced knowledge of claims operating practices, and claims litigation laws and regulations. Requires in-depth knowledge of product offerings, underwriting practices, and pricing strategies.
Skills/Competencies: Proven ability to meet customer needs and provide exemplary service by informing customers of the claims process and ensuring a positive customer experience. Proven ability to lead and train commercial claims employees in all aspects of claims. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills necessary to read, write, speak, and interpret highly sensitive and complex material regarding claims litigation and related financial reports. Ability to analyze data and interpret commercial industry trends. Effective listening, oral and written communication skills necessary for customer contact, negotiation, presentations, project management, personnel management Working knowledge of personal computers and associated software like Word, Excel, Power Point, and/or other financial reporting software.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
