Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for an Electrician located at NPPD's General Office in Columbus, Nebraska. Position closes January 28, 2015. Summary of Job Duties: Incumbent performs corrective and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, modify and replace equipment associated with any electrical systems within the Columbus Office, garage, and hangar. Document and report tasks completed. Essential Functions of Position: Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, new installation of all electrical equipment and circuits including 120, 208, 240, 277, and 480 volts. Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on all electrical equipment and have a working knowledge to comply with National Electric Codes. Maintain and troubleshoot the Pegasys Security System and light system (motion sensors). Maintain emergency lighting, generators, fire alarms, and detection systems, including emergency generator for the data center. Replace ballasts, lamps, and bulbs. Maintain electrical materials in stock necessary to keep priority equipment working with minimal impact on the daily operation of the Columbus Office. Document and report tasks as completed. Qualifications Education and Training: Associate's Degree plus one year electrical experience required (OR) High School Diploma/GED plus five years electrical experience required. Mechanical, electrical, and HVAC maintenance courses preferred. Licenses and/or Certifications Required: Journeyman's Electrical License required. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
