Job Details:

Responsible for providing patient and family centered hospice care to individuals with a life limiting illness. Care is provided in a variety of settings, including patient or family homes, nursing facilities, and inpatient facilities. The Hospice RN acts as the primary case manager and works with the hospice interdisciplinary team to coordinate all aspects of hospice care for an aggregate of patients. This position includes provision of care after hours, consisting of on call, weekend and evenings in rotation with team members.
Qualifications/Competencies:

Must have either a current State of Maine Registered Nurse (RN) license or an RN license recognized by the Nurse Licensure Compact ( ). If RN licensure is from a compact state, must obtain a state of Maine RN license within 90 days of changing primary residency to Maine required.

Hospice and Palliative Care Certification preferred.

Associate's degree in Nursing;Bachelor's degree (BSN) is preferred.
1 year or more of current acute med/surg or equivalent RN experience is required; RN experience in homecare or hospicepreferred.
Thorough knowledge and skill in current nursing practice required.
Successful candidates are organized and skilled in problem solving, clinical assessment and care provision, verbal and written communication, and coordination of care.
Knowledgeable and skilled in the provision of patient and family centered, relationship-based care.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
