State Hospital South has an exciting opportunity for a candidate experienced in the maintenance of medical records!

Responsibilities :
Maintain health information data system
Generate statistical reports
Coordinate records activities with other departmental units
Authorize release of patient information
Ensure records system procedures comply with federal and state statutes and regulations
Compile patient census, statistical, and medical information for research and other special studies
Minimum
Qualifications:
Good knowledge of state and federal requirements for the maintenance and retention of patient records
Good knowledge of state and federal requirements related to privacy, confidentiality, security, rights of access and release of patient health records
Some knowledge of automated information systems
Some knowledge of alphabetical, numerical or subject filing systems
Additional
Qualifications: Are not required; however, having the minimum qualifications and the education and/or experience below will increase your score.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Typically gained by experience creating, formatting, editing, sorting, filtering, printing and storing data in pre-designed tables using Microsoft Excel.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word. Typically gained by the ability to operate word processing software (such as Microsoft Word) and equipment at the rate of 40 wpm or more and produce merged documents, specialized tables, reports (columns), correspondence, forms (creating and using templates), and graphics.
This position does not require experience in medical coding; however, if you have this experience, please indicate it in your application.
