Description/Job Summary
The purpose of the Live Haul Driver is to transport chickens from poultry farms to the processing plants by means of a tractor-trailer within required time constraints.
Responsibilities/Duties
#1. Make a written pre-trip and post-trip inspection on truck and fill out a DOT Inspection form at the end of first shift.
#2. Drive to and from farms during the day and night within a driving range of 20 minutes to 3 hours nonstop.
#3. Make 1 to 4 trips per shift.
#4. Must cover loads with canvas if temperatures fall below 30 degrees Fahrenheit. At the plant, cooling shed fans must be on if temperature exceeds 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
#5. Must complete logbooks and tickets in a timely manner.
#6. Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process safety Management related matters.
Required Skills
Strong reading, writing, math skills.
Required Experience
2 Years 0 Months experience driving tractor-trailers requiring CDL License
Required Education
High School diploma or GED required.
Required Qualifications
Must have a valid CDL License, A class, A License and have met all requirements of Perdue's Safety Program and Department.
