Position
Summary:
Plan and facilitate specialized troop events. Lead waterfront activities for troops. Assist with camp units and waterfront as needed.

Unpaid days off:One Saturday or Sunday each week, May 25 and July 3-6
Major Accountabilities:
Assist in planning and facilitating specialized troop events, including off-site trips.
Lifeguard and participate in waterfront activities.
Teach small watercraft activities and outdoor skills.
Key
Responsibilities:
Participate in staff training.
Plan and implement curriculum for troop events, ensuring it meets promises outlined in event descriptions.
Teach outdoor and waterfront skills and promote a sense of responsibility toward preservation of natural resources.
Assist in conducting initial and end-of season inventories of all equipment and supplies and safe storage at the end of the summer.
Maintain an organized and clean Outfitting Center and conduct daily check of area and equipment for safety cleanliness, and good repair.
Work closely with the Day Camp Program Team for the shared use of programming space and equipment.
Interpret, and implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
Prepare, review and submit records and requested reports on time.
Prepare an evaluation and summary of current season including inventories, staff evaluations, camper reports and recommendations for the following season.
Interpret, enforce and teach state, American Camp Association and Girl Scout safetyguidelines and standards.
Comprehend, monitor and be willing to initiate crisis management plan and overall safety, including emergency procedures.
Assist in the opening and closing of camp.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or CampDirector.

Experience:
Position Requirements:
Current certification American Red Cross Lifeguard or certification from another organization having equal standards.
Current certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Standard First Aid.
Good driving record and valid driver's license for at least one year. Valid driver's license, compliance with the council's policy of automobile insurance limits, and a driving record that meets the requirements for coverage of the council's business auto insurance carrier.
