Position description: This person has local responsibility to develop, improve, maintain and implement Quality Management processes to support the Kenansville manufacturing site in support of Corporate strategies and objectives. Key focus is to provide assurance that released products are of highest quality and reliability with a zero tolerance approach to cost of poor quality. This requires strategic planning of qualification activities, engaging internal and external customer support for quality management systems requirements and administrating continuous improvement methodologies.
The Director of Quality - NAA will be responsible for managing the site Quality Assurance and Quality Control resources while providing guidance on resource management of Continuous Improvement, Supplier Quality, and Quality Management Systems departments through a staff of managers, engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
Specific duties:
Represent site authority for all quality and risk related matters.
Responsible for COQ reduction focused on zero based tolerance.
Manages risk assessments and decision competence on risk/deviant releases.
Monitor quality criteria and the adherence to quality assurance management procedures within the function.
Define and run KPI, quality and risk reporting systems. Contribute to the development of adequate quality measurement criteria and establish/harmonize quality assurance objectives, policies and operating procedures including risk management with Lear Quality metrics.
Initiates and directs site continuous improvement activities and programs.
Oversees data management and documentation.
Definition and design of an effective process flow for customer complaint management.
Requirements/Qualifications/Previous experiences: 10
years experience in a manufacturing environment including 5
years Quality Assurance supervisory/management experience. Manufacturing experience in a textile manufacturing operation strongly preferred but not required.
B.S. Technical and/or Business degree
Ability to communicate effectively on a technical level with customers, across organizational lines and with all levels of management.
Demonstrated ability to create a culture of cooperative Quality Assurance improvement with internal and external customers.
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
Knowledge of and experience with industry standards as they apply to purchasing and manufacturing of automotive textile fabrications and related processes.
Basic knowledge of quality systems, methods, procedures and tools, continuous improvement methodologies and customer related processes.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems systematically with scientific methodologies.
Demonstrated experience in significantly improving QM processes to meet customer's requirements / ISO9001:2008 and/or ISO/TS16949:2009.
