About the Opportunity
Packaging Lead Operator is an extension of packaging line supervisors and has responsibility for Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Process and Team development for a specified work area. Primary responsible of the position is to providing day to day shift support to Packaging operations while maintaining safety and quality standards within the operation. The position requires leading a process and people to generate the expected results. The position requires you to available for other shifts and/or overtime as needed which may also include weekends.
Ingredients To Be A Successful Packaging Lead Operator:__
Ensure that safety and quality standards are met during the shift
Monitoring & ensuring all critical control points are reviewed to meet quality standards
Lead a process area consisting of operators and/or technicians
Make sure process area are meeting sanitation standards and 5S standards
Responsible for overall coordination of process area (People, Process and/or MaintenanceEtc.)
Monitoring production plans and changes
Meeting current and future schedules
Work with Line supervisors and Training Coordinator to train and develop team members
Request, Develop and Provide the team with all the tools so that operators and technicians become self-sufficient on their jobs
Utilizing continuous improvement tools to achieve performance targets & gaps
Assist with monitoring and tracking financial performance of the area. Help Initiate processes to control cost and improvement performance
Assist in execution of predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance work for your area
Ensuring use of standard operating procedures (SOP's)/Checklists.
Other Tasks including but not limited to :
Direct Packaging Operators to perform required tasks to ensure quality production of product through proper sanitation, processing and packaging procedures. May be required to perform the tasks of a Packaging Operator as needed which includes (but not limited to) safe and efficient operation of Packaging equipment/machinery. Help ensure Only good beer, tea and cider leave the brewery.
Observe and Practice Brewery GMP and Safety First work methods and procedures for self and others. Comply with wearing and using the proper PPE 100% of the time and always work in a safe manner.
Ensure proper sanitation duties are completed through operators or personally. Involves the complete cleaning of all the equipment within the facility. Foaming equipment, hoses, brooms, shovels, brushes, scrapers, squeegees and numerous chemicals are necessary to sanitize the designated site.
Conduct Pre-Shift meetings as needed to ensure Operators understand daily production goals and assignments.
Assist Operators by ensuring materials/liquid are available for production needs. Work to resolve any discrepancies and involve Supervisor as needed.
Prepare information for shift reports.
Elevate any production or employee issues or concerns to Supervisors for action.
Assist with the training of Packaging Operators. Ensure operators understand how to safely and efficiently operate equipment. Notify Supervisor of opportunities for the team or individuals.
Enthusiastically drive collaboration (teamwork) and continuous improvement through strong, committed, positive working relationships. Demonstrate passion to support positive change.
Recommend improvements and desirable modifications to our processes and equipment.
Successfully read and operate automated equipment, computers and company business systems. Accurately input data as required.
Communicate with coworkers, face to face, Brewery phones, and radio. Must carry radio as required.
Operate forklifts in a safe, effective manner as needed.
Perform work and cleaning in confined space areas such as the Pasteurizer.
Perform Quality checks, testing, and complete paperwork as required.
Conduct equipment and product changeovers, using tools as needed.
Assist with supporting overtime as needed to cover varying production needs. May include 12 hour shifts, weekends and/or holidays.
Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
To Be Mixed With:__
High school diploma or equivalent.

years' experience off knowledge/experience in a manufacturing/production environment.

Physical Requirements:
Must practice safe work methods and comply with wearing and using the proper PPE 100% of the time on the floor and always work in a safe manner.
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. repetitively throughout the shift.
Be able to stand, twist, and bend as required for 90% of work schedule.
Work overtime as needed which may require 12 hour shifts, weekends, and holidays.
_Working conditions:_
Tolerate summer/winter temperature conditions and hot and cold in a production environment.
May require some work in confined space.
