Skills/Experience
The Lead Database Administrator's key duties and responsibilities include:
Manage large enterprise databases, including Oracle and SQL.
Provide database administration (DBA) services, middle tier application server administration, and Oracle Grid control monitoring to provide the database (DB) infrastructure required to support business applications. These services include customer inquiry and resolution; installation, operations and maintenance of Oracle resources to ensure adequate performance; data confidentiality, integrity and availability, as well as recoverability.
Maintain the physical DB, application server, and load balancer architectural design. Install, configure, and provide Operation and Maintenance of Oracle products such as the DB engine, application servers and OEM. Activities include the following: Install, configure, operate, and maintain the clustering of the databases, application servers and load balancers.
Implement and maintain database security and audits. Generate and provide audit reports. Perform quality assurance and stress testing during non-business hours on systems in order to benchmark system/application or database performance. Stress testing must benchmark system response time, database response time, application response time, network throughput, network bandwidth, network latency, firewall throughput, maximum concurrent users, maximum concurrent requests, and other industry standard benchmarks.
Perform database maintenance and recovery, including Backups, Exports, Image copies, Reorganizations, Database tool evaluation, Documentation.
Perform data administration, including maintaining and enforcing standards for database design, naming, and access
Provide development assistance, including table generation and views. Problem determination and assistance with application database issues
Provide Disaster recovery support for databases
