Gerdau is currently seeking a Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic for its Jackson, Michigan facility.
Responsibilities:
Perform a broad variety of general maintenance work including millwright, fabricating, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery and other preventative maintenance work including oiling and greasing, welding, cutting, brazing, machining, assembly and installation.
Preventative maintenance and repairs on overhead and gantry cranes, locomotive rail cranes, and other engine powered equipment including front end loaders and Hi-Lo's.
Operate maintenance shop equipment including presses, grinders, welders, lathes, surface grinders, degreasers and all hand and power operated tools.
Work on assigned construction projects involving welding, erection, fabrication and installation of building additions or redesigns as well as equipment installations.
Operate plant equipment as needed to support maintenance efforts.
Work from verbal instructions, sketches, drawings and blueprint.
Maintain tools in good condition and follow 5S standards to ensure safety operating condition.
Others duties as assigned/required.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
A minimum of 1 year industrial maintenance experience
Ability to work any available shift
