The Live-in Caregiver stays in the client's home and provides non-medical, in-home support and home management services twenty-four hours a day. He or she provides companionship to those individuals requiring socialization and minimum guidance for a safe, protected, clean, and orderly environment. The Live-in Caregiver is provided with private sleeping quarters.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED and has completed any state-mandated training. Previous experience is preferred. In addition, he or she has a genuine desire to work with the elderly or disabled, reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and current automobile insurance. Fluent English speaking and skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
