Our Client, a well-known provider of Cloud Based backup, disaster recovery and Business Continuity solutions for Europe and North America, has asked Hallmark to help them hire a Senior Software Developer. They are looking for someone who is passionate about development for internal and distributed systems and eager to implement new solutions. This is one of the fastest growing companies in the country with an international footprint, and they offer excellent growth potential.
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor other developers across a variety of projects.
Enhance our existing codebase and implement creative solutions.
Contribute to architecture discussions and oversee the implementation of new ideas.
Oversee code reliability and security with unit tests.
Lead project discussions with cross-functional code walkthroughs/reviews.
Work with other departments to resolve client-facing issues.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Strong working knowledge of PHP or another high-level programming language (e.g. PHP, C, C++, C#, Python, Java, J2EE, etc.).
Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
Hands-on ability with:
1. Linux command-line navigation, configuration, and tools.
2. Shell scripting (e.g. Bash, Python, etc.).
3. Source control (e.g. Git, CVS, SVN, Mercurial, etc.).
4. Implementing and consuming web services (e.g. JSON, RPC, REST, XML, SOAP, etc.).
Must enjoy learning and be self-motivated, with the ability to switch contexts as the needs of the business evolve.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
B.S. in Computer Science / Engineering

years of work experience, including:
1. Virtualization technologies (e.g. VirtualBox, VMWare, etc.)
2. Web Server technologies (e.g. Apache, MySQL, etc.)
3. Basic web development (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
4. Project/bug tracking software (e.g. JIRA, FogBugz, etc.)
Exposure to ZFS
General understanding of AGILE methodologies
Security conscious
