Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
1. Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment and controls using computer-assisted drafting equipment.
2. Lay out and draw schematic views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
3. Consult with other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
4. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
5. Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
6. Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
7. Communicate with customers as need to answer questions or supply additional information.
8. Provide product support as needed.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Two years of related design experience in an industrial setting preferred. Must have experience and/or training using SolidWorks.
Necessary Skills:
Knowledge of SolidWorks.
Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook)
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology.
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their application.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Other Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to a moderate noise level.
