Summary:
The Brain Injury Specialist will provide direct support to individuals with brain injury in the community. This individual will provide support and skills training to the brain injury survivor in their home, work setting, and health & leisure domains. Through service coordination, resource identification, and independent living/life skills training the Brain Injury Specialist will enhance the overall community integration of the brain injury survivor.
Advocates is an EOE/D/F/M/V.

Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for the delivery of client services, to include intake, service planning, life skills training and coordination of other services to achieve client goals.
2. Provide support and supervision to the brain injury survivor.
3. Provide transportation and training around utilizing transportation to brain injury survivors, to meet the survivor's service needs.
4. Document monthly progress toward identified goals.
5. Maintain ongoing communications with program/agency staff and service providers.
6. Provide crisis intervention and access emergency services to clients as needed.
7. Identify and address community integration issues for clients on caseload or as designated.
8. Attends and actively participates in supervision and staff meetings.
9. Attend trainings as assigned; maintain necessary certifications (CPR/First Aid, SOLVE, MAP, CBIS).
10. Ensure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates' Human Rights policy.
11. Perform all duties in accordance with agency's policies and procedures.
12. Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.

Qualification/Education/
Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in social services or other related field and 1 year related experience; or BA in related field and 3 years related experience.
2. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
3. Must have sensitivity to the needs of the population.
4. Strong computer knowledge.
5. Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
6. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
7. Ability to read English and communicate effectively in the primary language of the program to which he/she is assigned.
8. Must hold a valid drivers' license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
