Job Duties: Create and implement disaster recovery procedures and solutions for EMC databases. Administer and implement strict security integrity controls. Create new database objects and dictionaries. Create lists, control tables (and records), and use pre-defined coding schemes necessary to process data with inputs from development/user groups and create standard documentation. Conduct/create or update data validation checks using industry standard methodology. Consult with senior management to develop and promote database strategies and programs to meet the companys future needs. Research trends and stays current on technical changes and new product releases. Analyze and work on non-standard problems or issues that span multiple technologies and propose long-term solutions and fixes. Plan and upgrade major and complex applications and databases. Configure and tune database tier components for any enterprise applications suite. Configure and tune web and application servers. Install, patch, and maintain Enterprise Application suites in multi-tier environments.
Job Requirements: Bachelors degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in any relevant engineering field plus 5 years of post-degree progressive experience in all of the following: designing, deploying, and maintaining high-scale, high-capacity, and high-availability database infrastructures on Oracle 8i, 9i, 10g, and 11g RAC with ASM and non RAC databases, providing 24/7 support; monitoring database performance and database operation to prevent downtime, brownouts, and slowness of the service, resolving issues on SRDF replication; performing proactive database maintenance procedures to ensure optimal performance and uptime; designing and supporting mid-sized to large-scale production OLTP and data warehouse in EMC products like SRDF, VNX and Vmax Storages; optimizing database performance through profiling and analysis of database behavior, index and table statistics management, and query hints extensively to optimize the SQL statements; designing and implementing complex data models and schemas to store relationship data and deploying databases on and maintaining the database on VMware; developing Backup design and disaster recovery plans and execution for business continuity using SRDF and oracle rman on oracle 8i, 9i, 10g and 11g databases; deploying, configuring and monitoring oracle 10G and 11g OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager); designing and deploying DR & high availability solutions; and, designing and managing of partitions and clustering of tables.
