## Description/Job Summary
This position must safely operate the ammonia refrigeration system and its related equipment by adhering to the plant Process Safety Management Program. Diagnose system problems and make repairs. Make equipment repairs as generated from work orders. May be required to perform supervisor's duties in their absence.
Second Shift
## Responsibilities/Duties
1. Must be able to safely isolate and pump down any section of all systems.
2. Must be able to do line opening procedures.
3. Qualified to receive or transfer ammonia in all plant systems.
4. Qualified to do routine maintenance on:
a. Ammonia compressors
b. Air compressors
c. Ammonia liquid pumps
d. Ammonia system controls.
e. Refrigeration system condensers
f. Air system drying equipment
g. Air system controls
5. Must have a clear understanding of refrigerant expansion with pressure temperature variables.
6. Posses ability to direct and train operators
7. Working knowledge of departmental Plant Controls.
8. Record keeping.
9. Communicate issues with equipment to management when necessary.
10. Direct involvement with Process Safety Management and Hazmat.
## Required Experience
3
years of experience in Industrial Refrigeration
## Required Education
Technical schooling in Refrigeration.
## Preferred Education
HS Diploma/GED
## Required Qualifications
Strong work history, worked for one employer for at least 6 months in the past three years.
Willing and able to stand for several hours
Willing and able to work in wet and extreme cold and hot conditions
Ability to lift up to 99 pounds without mechanical assistance.
Ability to withstand exposure to all physical and chemical elements of the processing environment
Decision-making ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues that may arise during production times.
Ability to communicate mechanical issues to Production/Maintenance Management.
Ability to keep composure in stressful situations.
Ability to keep accurate and organized records.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Must be available to work overtime (including weekends) to perform Preventative Maintenance tasks during down time.
