Responsible for gathering and evaluating new product ideas in the context of potential, practicality, strategic planning and implications for other products.
Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:
Acts as a liaison between marketing/sales and operations.
Investigates market opportunities and effect on market for present products.
Evaluates ideas and suggestions for new products and major enhancements to existing products.
Determines customer needs and preferences through research and analysis of industry technology, current processes and other methods.
Prepares requirements defining product scope, features, functionality and output.
Determines criteria used in screening product ideas and prepares complete proposals for management action.
May coordinate or lead product development teams.
May lead and coordinate activities of other lower level staff performing related functions.
Requires:
BA/BS degree
3 or more years of experience
or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
MBA is preferred.
