The ideal candidate will have demonstrable knowledge of narrowband VHF trunked communications systems. Candidate will have experience developing and maintaining communications sites and a strong understanding of RF site installation methods and best practices. Candidate should have experience maintaining and repairing VHF Land Mobile Radio (LMR) subscriber and infrastructure equipment to include radio programming. Candidate should also demonstrate understanding of wireline circuit troubleshooting.
Required Skills and Education
Required education: High School/GED
Eight years of specific experience with installation,configuration, and maintenance of VHF LMR infrastructure or similar equipment.
Experience with and functional knowledge of wireless communications infrastructures.
Experience with and troubleshooting of wireline circuits.
Experience with Desktop Communications Dispatch Consoles.
Portable/Mobile/Base equipment radio programming or similar experience.
Harris and/or Motorola station system familiarity.
Harris and/or Motorola mobile and subscriber device familiarity.
Preferred Skills and Education
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
Presentation skills for both formal and informal settings.
Experience with radio encryption management.
Experience with multiplexing techniques and Multi-Protocol Label.
Switching (MPLS) circuit mapping.
