Summary:
The Safety/Security Officer, under the supervision of the Security Shift Supervisor, patrols assigned areas of the Medical Center to identify and/or respond to unsafe conditions. In addition, the officer will answer calls for service pertaining to unauthorized or illegal activity within the building or campus grounds. All officers respond to emergencies and calls for service to assist with combative patients or visitors. On a routine basis each officer will perform locking or unlocking of doors as scheduled. Officers are routinely assigned the task of testing and inspecting safety equipment throughout the campus monthly.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent education required.
Previous experience with law enforcement, security operations, public safety, military and/or fire departments required.
Good public relations and communication skills a must.
Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs which may apply based on the age of the patient served.
Criminal background checks include:
Virginia State Police
Third-party background check
INDD1Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
