1. Makes rounds continually; follows up with problems to ensure appropriate follow-through takes place.
2. Supervises a charge nurse in carrying out their responsibility (medication pass, treatments, supervision)
3. Inspects unit/wing areas to verify that residents' needs are met and policies and procedures are followed.
4. Supervises admissions, transfers and discharges and ensures documentation is complete and resident needs are met.
5. Assesses critically ill residents; reports findings to physician and records observations; may provide direct care to critically ill residents from time to time.
6. Assists with the Continuous Quality Improvement Program and ensures follow-up occurs.
7. Deals with families and residents when issues arise; handles complaints and provides education regarding care, as needed.
8. Evaluates performance of charge nurses; coaches and disciplines as needed.
9. Assist charge nurse with concerns/problems.
10. Responds and takes charge in emergency situations.
11. In charge of department/facility in absence of DON, ADON, Administrator.
12. Ensures wings are adequately staffed according to census.
13. Ensures safe work practices are followed.
14. Ensures resident rights are respected.
1. Current license by the State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse with experience in the long-term care industry preferred; at least three years nursing experience required.
2. Ability to plan, supervises, and coordinates services.
3. Experience in supervising, training and instructing nursing personnel in the long term care setting preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
