This position is for the contractor that reports to the Fleet Coordination Manager (N41) reporting to the Director, Mission Assurance, ESSM In-Service and Production Division (N40) in the NATO SEASPARROW Project Office (NSPO) located within the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems ( PEO IWS), an Echelon II Command.
The Mission Assurance, ESSM In-Service and Production Division is the central authority within NSPO for the complete life-cycle support and management of the NSSMS and ESSM products under the various Memoranda of Understanding with the Participating Governments. Under these MOU, the division is responsible for assisting PGs in assessing the performance of the NSPO products installed in their ships and to resolve their specific in-service issues. The Division is also responsible for establishing joint PG requirements for future improvements to the NSPO products. The candidate will provide the international (non-USN) engineering, operational and tactical experience to support the mission assurance division in sustaining the international combat capability of the weapons and equipment procured from the NATO SEASPARROW Program.
The major area of responsibility is to oversee the support provided to the 12 nations of the NATO SEASPARROW Consortium by the Program Office. The candidate must be familiar with international combat systems, radars, computer systems, fire control systems and possess in-depth operational and tactical knowledge. The candidate must be able to develop operational and tactical issue papers that provide impact assessments, mitigation strategies and alternative configuration information to the 12 nations when technical issues are discovered. Also required is the ability to develop the Program Office position and recommendations, including safety assessments and equipment disposition recommendations for the supported nations.
Other duties will include overseeing technical functions and coordinating complex efforts focused on Consortium naval warfare systems,including development, integration, eevaluation of surface ship/and or aircraft carrier designs, major ship systems, modernization and maintenance and repair. The candidate will provides assistance to the Director, Mission Assurance, ESSM In-Service and Production Division (N40) and the Deputy Director, Mission Assurance, ESSM In-Service and Production Division (N40B) in the migration of tasking, maintenance and support of the departmental SharePoint project server environment. This also includes the maintenance and upkeep of Mission Assurance products such as the NSPO Training Catalogue, NSPO Instructions, NSPO Transportation Guide, etc.
Required Skills and Education
Required education: Bachelor Degree
International Navy experience as a ship tactical action officer, Ship's Weapons Officer, or Commanding or Executive Officer.
Weapons development and testing experience.
Ability to effectively liaise and communicate in an office environment staffed with international navy officers from the NATO SEAPARROW Consortium and support their individual nation needs.
Preferred Skills and Education
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering
