Position Description
Provide supervisory leadership to crews in assigned geographic area. Responsible for the safety and environmental programs, compliance with company procedures and government regulations, employee training and development, and overview of administrative functions relevant to the work.
oResponsible for the operation and maintenance of terminal equipment, including, but not limited to powered industrial fork trucks, front end loaders, conveyor systems, and hydraulic crane
o Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment
o Represent the Company when contacting customers, public officials, emergency officials, and at local meetings, such as One Call, Pipeline Groups, Soil Conservation, USFS
o Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties
o Train and oversee company and third party personnel as required (e.g., personnel in progression, transport drivers, contractors, visitors)
o Perform governmental compliance activities (OSHA, DOT, State Agencies, EPA, USFS, etc.)
o Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns
o Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives
o Participate in the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plan
o Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping
oEnsure that proper documentation is completed on all shipments including but not limited to: proper shipping weights, seal numbers are recorded, and logs are completed
oOperate certified scales
oComplete all required safety training and monthly refresher training
oEnsure operations are performed in accordance with approved procedures and company policy
oSupervise personnel performing duties as the Dock Watchman / Person in Charge
oMaintain a clean and safe work environment including but not limited to: proper storage of tools, hoses, and rigging equipment, cleanliness of work area, properly wear of all personal protective equipment, immediately containing and reporting any spills or unsafe conditions
oLead daily, weekly and monthly safety meetings
oReport all accidents, incidents and near misses to management
oMaintain a positive and professional atmosphere for all employees and visitors
oAll other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Education:
o High school degree
o A two or four year college degree preferred
Position Requirements:
o Ability to plan, organize, document, prioritize and complete work efficiently
o Prior experience in dock operations and river barge discharging operations a plus but not required
oO.S.H.A. Certification not required, but a plus
o Must possess a strong work ethic with a minimum two (2) years demonstrated work experience as a Supervisor/Manager
oMust possess leadership and personnel management skills with superior work ethic and dependability
oExperience training and instructing employees
oMust be able to withstand extreme weather conditions as this position will require working outside
oMust possess strong verbal and written communication skills
oBasic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and fractions)
oAbility to take initiative, exhibit self-direction and work with co-workers to accomplish defined goals in a fast paced, challenging environment
oMaintain a regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance
oMust be willing to shift and/or work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as dictated by operations
oMust be able to work with a team, give direction to subordinates, keep required work schedule, focus on attention to details, and lead by example following all Policies, Procedures and Work Rules.
oMust be able to contribute to the SQE initiative by suggesting and implementing workable solutions to achieving goals and directives initiated by upper management.
oMust be able to perform the physical requirements including but not limited to working over water, walking up and down stairs/ladders, negotiated uneven surfaces and carry up to 50 lbs.
oMust possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to company and its insurers
oAbility to obtain TWIC (Transportation Work Identification Credential) as issued by TSA (Transportation Security Administration.
oSuccessful completion and passing of company drug screen and background check upon job offer.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
