Description
The Data Steward assists with the management of the company's data assets in order to improve and maintain timeliness and quality of the data. During the system implementation they drive data rules determination and change management. Post Implementation they monitor the quality of the data their business area is responsible for. They ensure that the Data in their business area is accurately maintained in accordance with business rules. Data Leads serve as the spokespersons for the business areas within their business unit on the company wide teams responsible for defining data processes and standards.
Architecture
Assists with the resolution of Data integration issues in coordination with other Data Leads
Standards
Represents their business area on company wide Data Standards and Data Process teams.
Participates in the definition of Business requirements and Data Business rules.
Supports projects and initiatives in development and refinement of data processes in accordance with defined standards
Recommends adjustments to data policies and procedures as necessary to improve the data quality supporting key performance indicators
Governance
Monitors compliance with data security requirements and approves data access requests (granting, changing, removing)
Carries out create and change activities for designated master data objects within their business unit.
Implementation
Works in close coordination with Process Team to determine which master and transactional data objects and fields are in scope.
Works in close coordination with Process Team to determine current data rules for all master and transactional data object fields within their area of responsibility.
Maintains up to date data rules in the related object Meta Data repository to inform the Technical Data Analysts about data requirements.
Responsible for monitoring data rules for age, range of coverage, status (final or placeholder) and team ownership/influence for all master and transactional data objects in their area of responsibility.
Monitors business process design changes for impacts to data rules in all team objects.
Monitors data rules for frequency/rate of change and application of change to transforms.
Responsible for keeping data rules in sync with their related business process designs.
Monitors defect logs for process team master data related items which require data rule review/update/remediation.
Works with Process Team Functional leads to identify business critical data elements.
Coordinates with other Data Leads to enable rule development for cross team owned or influenced fields.
Works with Process team to develop data validation rules.
Works with process team to develop legacy record data retention rules.
Works with process team to facilitate data construction efforts.
Works with process team to manage field level data provision requirements.
Works with data team technical analysts to clarify data rules.
Quality
Fields calls from data users within their business area. Resolves routine data problems.
Investigates and initiates appropriate corrective action when data quality in their span of responsibility deteriorates.
Monitors the quality of data maintained in their Business Area
Monitors performance indicators/metrics for data within their span of responsibility and regularly briefs their business unit on the quality of data for in their business areas of responsibility (Ops Review)
Identifies root causes of data quality problems within their business area and identifies sustainable solutions
Develops and performs independent data quality analyses relevant to their business area and data domain(s)
Assists Domain Leads with development and execution of metrics test and validation plans.
Coordinates SAP Users participation and personally participates in execution of testing and validation of data quality metrics.
Deployment
Coordinates review and approval of data deletion and archiving requests for data in their span of responsibility
Ensures SAP Users in their business area follow policies and procedures for resolving data related problems.
Ensures SAP Users in their business unit are kept informed of changes in data standards and processes; Trains business users on proper updating and use of data under their management
Enters problems originating in their business area in problem resolution database and monitors problem resolution process until resolution is complete
Follows policies and procedures for handling calls and responding to problem tickets assigned to them
Educates and trains SAP users within their business area.
Assists the Enterprise Data Management Practice Manager with training of new Data Leads
Develops data value propositions for their business area.
Other
Monitors the performance of the SAP users within their business unit and initiates appropriate action if performance is not acceptable
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
Collaborates with Enterprise Data Management team when requested to help provide effective solutions to data issues and problems
Displays mastery of the portions of business processes executed by businesses within their business area
Successful completion of at least one business unit project with a data focus or significant contribution to the completion of a cross business unit initiative/project
Proficiency with MS Office, basic and some more advanced data analysis and process control methods/techniques
Proven ability working with cross-functional teams
Proven ability to create presentations and effectively present to management
Understands the fundamentals of databases and data structures (tables, hierarchal structures, flat files, etc.)
Demonstrates understanding of all the functions performed by businesses within their business unit
Displays familiarity with systems used within/by their business unit

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
