Position
Summary: Under the supervision of the Youth & Family Director, this position is responsible for the growth, development and retention of staff and participants in the child watch area.

Essential Functions:
1. Directs and supervises all child watch activities to meet YMCA objectives. Establishes new program activities and expand current programs within the Y in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
2. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs child watch personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff to achieve goals. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
3. Works with Youth and Family Director to ensure proper amount activities are on the schedule to meets the demands of our child watch user base throughout the year.
4. Will be expected to be on the child watch schedule on every schedule and be a leader within the association way team if there is one in the future.
5. Will be given up to ten hours a week to handle all office related work.
6. Develops and monitors child watch budget to meet fiscal objectives. Responds to all member and community inquires and complaints in a timely manner.
7. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of participation in the program.
8. Actively recruits and participates in Strong Communities Campaign.
1. 30/60/90 Day Expectations:
1. Solidify staff schedule - Fill holes and add depth for additional kids or staff turnover
2. Establish (2) shift leader positions - Evenings/Weekends
3. Execute curriculum of activities already established
4. Add additional programming options for children 4-7 in the room.
5. Lead staff through the following in-service training:

Check in/out procedures

Choaking/CPR

Child Abuse reporting procedures

Redirecting behavior and communicating issues to parents

Risk Management Checks - Tornado, Fire, Bathroom, Code Adam, Incident Reports, food & allergy, diaper changing and bathroom procedures

Ensure staff is 100% on CPR certifications.
Experience, Education and Certification(s):
o A bachelor's degree is preferred, High School diploma required. One to two years related experience preferred.
o Ability to communicate, both oral and written.
o Budget, management, organizational skills, strategic problem solving and human relations experience a must.
o Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
Must complete within 30 days of hire or have completed training in the following areas: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory staff, Working with Program Volunteers, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, and Blood-borne Pathogens
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Bilingual in Spanish highly desired.
2. Ability to relate and interact with diverse groups from all social and economic areas of the community required
3. Individual will be required to understand and apply the basic philosophy, nature and goals of the YMCA.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
