Job Description
We are currently seeking aCommodity Manager I in ourWest Plains, MO location.
Job
Responsibilities:
Identifies, selects, and manages global supplier relationships for assigned commodities (with high technical or commercial complexity and/or medium/high spend commodities) to ensure that products and services are delivered to the quality, cost and delivery performance levels required
Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned commodities
May provide hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for multiple direct reports
Defines, develops and communicates the commodity strategy that drives a supply base committed to deliver 100% quality parts, on time, with continued effort to reduce the total cost of the commodity and may ensure all engineering, customer, security, and EHS requirements are met
Defines, drives and implements continuous improvement projects to ensure objectives are met
Leads simplification in the overall supply chain
Provides expertise to internal team as well as other internal functions
Required Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Scheduling/Purchasing, Logistics or relevant degree
Minimum 5-8 years in the materials/supply chain area
Strong analytical/problem solving skills and demonstrated experience in query or windows based programs to extract data to improve manufacturing experience
Demonstrated Leadership skills
Experience with operational systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Exceptionally computer literate
Proven track record of improving standard supply chain metrics
Qualifications:
CPIM/CPM/CSCP certification a plus. Materials/supply chain department with detailed performance improvements
Demonstrate systems expertise by growing the capabilities of the organization
Green or Black Belt trained or certified
Understands and adheres to best procurement practices
Understand and embrace the need for change
Displays adaptability and flexibility to change
Seeks resources to support change
Candidate will lead the development and implementation of standardized supply chain initiatives across the business (national and internationally)
