The Live In Caregiver stays in the client's home and provides non-medical, in home support for elderly individuals such as companionship, Interactive Caregiving, light housekeeping, transportation services, meal preparation and more. He or She will ensure a safe, clean, nurturing and orderly environment for those entrusted in their care. Shift will include sleep, meal and rest time as well as private sleeping quarters.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, a clean driving record and current insurance. Previous experience is preferred but not required. He or She has a genuine desire to work with the elderly or disabled with empathy and the skills to listen. Fluent English speaking and writing skills are also required as well as good time management skills, professional dress, speech and behavior.
Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, clean, orderly and nurturing environment
Offer Companionship and Support Comfort Keepers Interactive Caregiving philosophy
Help client with all personal care functions as needed
Help client at mealtimes and monitors eating habits
Help client to and from daily activities
Perform LHK tasks and assist with laundry
Ensures that required documentation is complete and in compliance with regulations an standards
Maintain and shop for groceries, household items etc as necessary
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
High school diploma or GED required
Clear background check and fingerprints (IDPH)
Reliable transportation and valid auto insurance
Unrestricted drivers license and clean driving record
Knowledge of general safety and sanitary practices
Able to bend, squat, kneel, stand and lift up to 25lbsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
