Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid by the Department of the Interior. Any travel, transportation and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the responsibility of the selected employee. U.S. Citizenship is required. Security Clearance/Background Investigation is required. Direct deposit is required. Incumbent serves as the Field Collection Officer. In this capacity is responsible for the collection and deposit of all monies received by the field office, processing of billings, record-keeping, and grazing fee monies, service charges, material sales, reclamation fees, road maintenance, fees, map sales, copy fees, realty fees, contributed funds, wild horse and burro fees, performance and compliance bonds. Maintains accounts receivable, reconciles, balances, and makes required adjustments/corrections in the accounts receivable and analysis of suspense account monthly. Serves as the backup field office timekeeper and serves ad the field office coordinator for all travel. This position falls under the group coverage qualification standards for Clerical and Administrative Support positions. There is no Individual Occupation Requirement for this position. In order to be rated as qualified using specialized experience, we must be able to determine that you meet the definition(s) below; please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level of the position to be filled.
For GS-05: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-04) that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is further defined as experience inputting, preparing, reviewing, and analyzing data in an automated database or accounting system. OR completed 4 years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the prerequisite. OR an equivalent combination of the specialized experience and education described above.
For GS-06: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-05). In addition to the specialized experience at the GS-5, applicants must have demonstrated experience classifying and coding of financial transactions such as payment vouchers; and preparing and reviewing financial documents to verify accounting data and necessary entries.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
