Media Specialist I - Registrar of Voters

The Elections Office of the Registrar of Voters is recruiting for a Media Specialist I to develop, implement and oversee the departments communications efforts; oversee the planning and coordination of projects related to campaign and customer relations; maintain and develop content for the department's website; respond to media requests using print, electronic and social media; organize outreach programs to educate and promote voter participation; and act as a liaison between the Registrar of Voters and candidates, legislators, city clerks, county administrators, Boards of Supervisors, media and the community.
Education: A Bachelors degree in English, journalism, business/public administration, marketing, public relations, mass communications or other related field.
--AND--
Experience: Two (2) years of primary responsibility organizing, coordinating, and overseeing outreach projects and programs to promote organization events and activities. This experience must have included writing and editing brochures, newsletters, news releases, press releases, and promotional materials for internal and external publications.
