Our client, located west of Boston, is looking for a Manager of Global Media Relations to join their corporate communications team. The company is a global developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical devices. Their portfolio of products is used in a range of medical specialties. They are growing through new product development/launches and via acquisitions.
In this role, the manager will develop and implement a range of strategic communications programs to maintain and grow the company's reputation around the world as a premier healthcare company. The role is varied and multi-faceted. You will serve as
Spokesperson - on all corporate-related issues
Coach - to senior executives throughout the company
Resource - to internal cross-functional teams
Manager - to external agencies and vendors

In this role, your activities will include
Coming up with and implementing media and communications plans to elevate the company's reputation.
Developing and fostering relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and others in local, national, trade, niche, business and special interest media outlets.
Serving as a resource to colleagues in financial and investor relations around earnings and other financial-related communications.
Partnering with other communications colleagues in various functions, including internal communications, executive communications and social media to ensure message consistency.
Developing plans for and preparing key constituents around potential crises. Providing media training to executives for other communications/events as well.
Building and maintaining relationships with advocacy groups and professional and industry organizations.
Serving as the communications lead at relevant events.
Managing the relationships and budgets for various external agencies and vendors.

Profile
Seven-plus years of public relations, media relations and/or corporate communications experience - corporate, agency or a mix.
Health care experience required, preferably within the life sciences industry.
Well-established relationships within the media, specifically those who cover the healthcare industry.
Track record of being regarded as a consultative communicator - able to work well with a range of stakeholders, including those at the C-level.
Experienced managing issues and crises. Experience handling product recalls, FDA matters and other challenges impacting the company's image and reputation ideal.
A true blend of developing strategies, implementing programs, and measuring their impact are a winning mix.
Strong business acumen.

Strong communicator - verbally, in writing and with non-verbal cues, too!
Bachelor's degree



Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
