(OPEN) The State Highway Administration Office of Traffic and Safety/Traffic Engineering Design Division (Hanover, MD) is recruiting for a Transportation Design Engineer IV (Team Member) position. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum and selective qualifications listed below. This is a _position specific_ recruitment. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy, and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification in the Office of Traffic and Safety/Traffic Engineering Design Division (Hanover,MD) .
The primary responsibilities for this position are to serve as licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and Project Manager within the Traffic Engineering Design Division (TEDD) for managing the design efforts and design of traffic control devices (TCDs) in the most complex and/or innovative highway and/or geometric improvement projects. This position is responsible for the oversight of significant transportation engineering projects, inclusive of construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of Maryland's roadways, bridges, parking facilities and environmental programs (i.e. noise barriers, wetland and stream mitigation).
The individual in this position manages numerous projects, ensuring design conformance with all Federal and Maryland State Highway Administration standards and procedures, and participates in all scheduled reviews and partnering meetings. The engineer working in this capacity is responsible for timely submission of plans, specifications and estimations.

Qualifications:
Possession of a Maryland Professional Engineer license, in the appropriate option, is required. Evidence of license must be presented at the time of appointment.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATION : Two (2) years of traffic control device design or highway design engineering experience. One (1) year must have involved the management of engineering designs for geometric improvement projects.
A selective qualification recruitment is conducted for positions when there is a specific or additional bona fide occupational qualification (i.e., knowledge, skill or ability).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school.
Licenses & Certifications:
Possession of a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland with less than four (4) points.
An applicant's current license as a Professional Engineer in a state with comparable requirements acceptable to the Maryland State Board for Professional Engineers, in the appropriate option for which application is made, will be accepted but the applicant must obtain a Maryland license within twelve (12) months of appointment. Evidence of out of state registration must be presented at time of appointment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
