How you will contribute
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Production Manager position at the Global EP Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will manage production planning & scheduling, productivity of individual shops, quality concerns, safety, and LEAN implementation. Additionally, you will
o Properly managed production areas will allow the division to meet customer demands, ensure employee safety and retention, and provide a high level of customer service
o Responsible for directing the departmental activities in order to meet or exceed plan objectives of the division
o Monitors and coordinates all activities between production control and manufacturing in order to meet plan
o Establish and maintain procedures that ensure high standards of productivity, product quality, cost effectiveness and safety
o Utilize human and capital resources to meet site goals while consistently serving the needs of the customer
o Supervise responsible areas to hit promised ship dates, tracks and reports performance of departments daily, weekly, and monthly in relation to plans or goals
What it takes
Required Qualifications
o High School Diploma or GED equivalent
o Previous experience in a management or supervisory role
o Five years' demonstrated experience of within a manufacturing setting
o Practical hands on experience in Lean Manufacturing
o A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
o Strong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives
o Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
o The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
o The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
o The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
o The ability to effectively interpret and present information both one-on-one and in front of an audience
o The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
o Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering or Business field
o Five years previous experience in a management or supervisory role
o Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or related training
o Prior supervision experience in a welding or fabrication industry
o Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
