Vidant Medical Center is looking for a Professional Development Coordinator with experience in one or more of the following areas:

Responsibilities
Leads aspects of the orientation process In collaboration with Nurse Managers/Asst. Nurse Managers/ENS participates in the selection and development of clinical coaches and acts as a resource for coaches on the unit.
Delivers Performance Based Development System (PBDS) results to clinical coach and new hires.
Provides feedback into completion of the learning contract in collaboration with the ENS and nurse manager.
Assures completion of orientation documentation in collaboration with the clinical coach/Nurse Manager.
Consults with the ENS and manager when an orientee's performance or progress is in question.
Facilitates orientation program.
Communicates orientation schedules to unit leadership for scheduling purposes.
Facilitates In-service activities:
Facilitates completion of annual requirements.
Facilitates new product and equipment, quality improvement and other relevant service line specific in-services.
Uses current policies and procedures and best evidence to support in-service education.
Rounds on a regular basis and participates in the assessment of learning needs.
Assists the ENS with keeping unit specific competency plans current, based on best evidence and new services.
Serves as a nursing education resource:
Functions as a resource for meeting unit and educational needs.
Assists with the validation of clinical performance.
Facilitates the professional development of self.
Achieves and maintains life support instructor status.
Teaches in specialty Continuing Education programs.
Serves on hospital and nursing committees.
Organizational Duties:
Communicates appropriately using good interpersonal skills.
Positive, professional demeanor is projected through verbal and non-verbal communications.
Information for patients and staff is delivered in a manner that is supportive, timely and understandable.
Interpersonal conflicts are resolved using appropriate methods and organizational resources, including but not limited to Employee Relations Services and Just Culture.
Diverse perspectives are acknowledged; language and behaviors are modeled that build inclusiveness in the work environment.
Ideas and suggestions are clearly communicated.
Clarification of communication is requested when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements
BSN or applicants currently enrolled in BSN program with a graduation date schedule for or prior to 18 months to 2 years of hire/transfer.
Current non restrictive RN licensure in the state of NC required.
3-4 years experience in clinical practice with evidence of clinical knowledge required.
If selected for interview, you will be requested to submit your college transcipt (Associates/Bachelors/Masters, etc.)
