Responsibilities
Provides centralized learning activities to meet training needs. Assesses organizational needs and priorities in collaboration with organizational leaders.
Assists Vidant Medical Center and the Vidant Health system to evaluate competency and staff development needs to determine appropriate educational needs.
Identifies appropriate resources to assist agencies in meeting learning needs. Facilitates the impact evaluation process to evaluate staff development activities. Co-facilitates centralized hospital and clinical orientation and programs. Serves as a resource for use of PBDS materials to support programs and remediation. Develops simulation training activities to support ongoing development.
Coordinates use of resources and technology (such as teleconferencing and on-line learning with Vidant Medical Center, AHEC and the subs) to assist Vidant Health systems agencies in complying with accreditation and regulatory agency requirements.
Evaluate current continuing education courses and applicability to subs.
Uses the Vidant Health systems LearnCenter to post instructor led and web based training opportunities.
Reviews and recommends acquisition of videos, books and other educational media.
Serves as an educational consultant. Assists in planning, implementing and evaluating of orientation and clinical continuing education activities. Consults with the ENS and Staff Development assistants in designing and implementing the staff development model.
Facilitates data management and report generation from the LMS and PBDS systems.
Assists in the administration of the ANCC COA-NCNA Approved Provider continuing nursing education at Vidant Medical Center and Vidant Health systems.
Serves as a Nurse Planner in determining RNCH credit for nursing programs. Serves as facilitator and-or faculty for selected education activities (Nurse Extern, Charge Nurse, Coach, and-or Staff Nurse Delegation workshop). Serves as PBDS consultant for Vidant Medical Center.
Provides leadership. Communicates effectively with staff, administration, and other health care personnel. Serves as a change agent Participates in organizational development-planning activities and in designated working groups. Participates in organizational long-term planning
Requirements
Current North Carolina RN license required.
BSN required
Masters degree in Nursing or Adult Education required
Five years of health care experience required.
Two years experience teaching adults required.

Full-time - 8:00am -5:00pm (other hours as needed based on department needs)
