Ketchikan Medical Center is part of PeaceHealth, a non-profit organization with facilities located throughout the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Our local medical community consists of over 30 physicians and Allied Health Professionals, of which 20 are employed by PeaceHealth and the medical group. The group is collaborative, collegial and works well together. In a community of our size there is a cross reliance that we find very valuable. Beyond our local community, the medical team expands to 5 additional regions within PeaceHealth, offering a wide expanse of resources. We feel we have the best of both worlds. We enjoy our small rural setting and can offer our community high quality medicine. We have a great video titled, The Spirit of PeaceHealth on our website, which speaks to what it is really like to be part of PeaceHealth.
Our hospital is located on an island in a friendly, family-oriented community in scenic Southeast Alaska, just an hour and a half flight from Seattle. This area is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts , those who love the arts, or someone who just wants a quiet, slower-paced life. But of course, you must also love (or at least tolerate), the coastal rainforest! Our thriving community hospital offers compassionate care and state of the art medicine. We are typically treating our friends and family and always put the patients' needs first. Our healthcare is high quality and our technology is cutting edge. Ketchikan Medical Center has been rated the top performing hospital in Alaska and PeaceHealth has been rated one of the 50 top-performing hospital systems in the nation by Thomson Reuters.
